Flower Arranging Classes

There's nothing quite like the feeling of helping others tap into their creative potential to find the joy in flower arranging. And that's exactly what we've been up to these past couple of months. The property management company, Related, asked us to give their lucky residents flower arranging classes again this year but instead of delivering bundles of posies to tenants and setting up a zoom call, we did several smaller in-person classes at each of their buildings: The Paramount, Mason on Mariposa, Fifteen Fifty Mission, Avery 450 and Avery 488. It was such a great experience working with Claire Dame, The Resident Experience Manager. We'd meet in the garage to unload that van, cart the flowers up to high-rise event spaces with gorgeous views, artfully display little piles of flowers like ranunculus, tulips and snap dragons for each person and then wait for them to arrive. We enjoyed watching everyone's reactions as they entered the room and noticed the colorful blooms on the tables and subtle fragrance in the air. Even more rewarding was watching the various arrangements come together with some simple tips. I learned early on that most students want minimal talking up front and more hands-on coaching. As I went around the room, it was satisfying to show someone how rearranging a simple flower, adding in another snippet of greenery or "giving air" to dense blooms can help an arrangement go from disheveled to polished in a few simple moves.

If you are interested in booking a class, we would be happy to discuss your options with you! Our classes are perfect for team-building, residential experiences, baby showers and more!

LIMITED EDITION
"The Pastel"

This new limited edition floral arrangement is inspired by blush rosebuds tightly curled like babies' fists, buttery yellow tulips gently kissing the morning sun and peach ranunculus as soft as bunny ears. The Pastel is gentle, playful and easy to love with muted hues such as peach, pink, blue, purple, yellow and all the soft shades in between. This arrangement is for someone who enjoys cool breezes, warm rays of sunshine, cherry blossoms, daffodils and all the subtle signs of spring.

Valentine's Day was a Record Breaker!

I can hardly believe that Mother's Day is next weekend--my head is still spinning from Valentine's Day! Our flower shop is about the size of a child's shoebox so we lucked out when our friend Paul Olson let us use his wood-working space next to Farley's Coffee to spread out our red roses. The set-up was a ittle confusing for some residents who thought that maybe another flower shop had popped up only a half a block away but we reassured them that Bell and Trunk just needed the extra space. Good thing we had more room because we had more workers and more business than ever before. It's kind of amazing to look back after it's all over to see we had exactly what we needed when we needed it: the right space, the right people, enough beautiful blooms and most importantly, plenty of flower orders from cherished customers who enable us to flourish. And now we're getting ready to do it all over again next weekend! But instead of pleasing sweethearts with red roses, we are remembering moms with peonies. Lots and lots of peonies.

Wedding Gallery

This year the concept of "wedding season" is no longer divided into spring and fall.  It is a year-round affair.  We are seeing weddings of all sizes every day of the week.  And when we look back on the photos of weddings we've done --like these from Zoe Larkin Photography, we are reminded of how much we love what we do.  Seeing our bouquets and boutonnieres in the photos of happy couples makes the time and care we put into our creations worthwhile.
